Lutein
from Marigold Flower Extract (a highly concentrated source of
lutein) is included to nourish the macula of the eye. Low levels

Bilberry
is rich in zinc, iron, phosphorous and flavonoids which may strengthen
the eyes and aid the functioning of the retina. Zinc deficiency

Bilberry
Extract contains substantial levels of zinc, iron
and phosphorus.Bilberry helps support already healthy night vision,
and enhances already healthy blood flow to the eyes. It supplies
the eye with bioflavonoids (particularly anthocyanosides) which
support the retina in removing toxic chemicals from the eye. Bilberry
Extracts have shown to increase the rate of several enzymes significantly
contained within the retina and

eye undergoes due to exposure to light.
Orbitol
has been formulated with Bilberries from Sweden to assist in the
prevention of natural deterioration of the eye and its function.
The principle compound in the Bilberries, anthocyanidins, are
structurally related to flavonoids, and thus exert similar physiological
effects. Anthocyanidins may be linked to a sugar molecule such
as glucose, arabinose or galactose and are thus called anthcyanosides.
Bilberry anthocyanidins are polyphenol, meaning that they have
many hydroxyl (-OH) groups attached to their chemical ring structure.
This gives anthocyanidins significant antioxidant potential.
Not all Bilberry
supplements are alike. It is important that the Bilberry content
contain 25% of these anthocyanidins. Most studies reveal that
Bilberry's peak nutritional benefits are achieved when the Bilberry
taken contains 25% anthocyanoside extract content.
